Who the Aliens?
In 2024, in collaboration with Beatrice Dinoia and RnB4culture, we landed at the Brera Museum and Astronomical Observatory.
Inside one of its domes, we came across the telescope that Giovanni Schiaparelli used to observe Mars, accidentally inspiring the creation of its inhabitants: the famous Martians!
We asked ourselves: what games do aliens play? And what do they sound like?
Together with two groups of children (ages 4 to 14), we tried to find answers. We drew and built playgrounds out of paper. We designed and played musical instruments using household materials.
Designing and playing musical instruments using household materials.
We didn’t find any definitive answers. Instead, a new question arose: what if we are the aliens?
We later gathered at the Sala delle Colonne in Fabbrica del Vapore for one final day of celebration.
We listened to the music track created with the instruments made at the Observatory.
We screened videos from the workshops.
And most importantly, we drew alien shapes starting from our own bodies.
And maybe we were right: the aliens are all of us!
